Scotland exerts an inexplicable pull on many people.

The Scottish diaspora is made up of those who have left Scotland over the years, either through choice, looking for adventure, following their love or looking for work. More likely, in the past, people were forced to leave through displacement and clearances. Those who left passed on to their children and grandchildren stories of the mountains, glens, islands and seas of Scotland. Of the mists and the bewitching skies. And to be honest, maybe they missed out the stories of the wind and the rain and the midges.

Scotland has been described as 'the best small country in the world'.

The awesome beauty of the lochs, mountains and glens along with the songs of the beaches, the islands and the mysteries of the Standing Stones and Brochs call out to people all over the world. As does the music, the whisky, the wildness of the weather and the wealth of the history, starting from mists of the Picts and Celts.

recently had the pleasure of taking a large group of students to Edinburgh Castle with Monica who was an exceptional guide. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough. From the moment we met, Monica's passion for history and storytelling was evident. Her knowledge of Scotland and the castle's rich history, combined with her engaging and friendly demeanor, made the tour both educational and entertaining.

Monica expertly navigated us through stories behind the castle's many highlights, including the Crown Jewels, the Stone of Destiny (albeit no longer there), and the stunning views from the battlements. She shared fascinating anecdotes and lesser-known facts that brought the castle's history to life, making each stop on the tour feel like a step back in time.

Although we were a large group (22), Monica connected well with everyone. She was attentive to our questions and interests, ensuring that each of us felt included and engaged. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoyed sharing her love of Edinburgh Castle with us.
